Sommerdom – Hamburg's largest outdoor festival

Three times a year, the Heiligengeistfeld transforms into a huge fairground – but the Summer Dom brings a very special atmosphere: warm evenings, glowing rides, and the smell of roasted almonds. From the Ferris wheel, you have the best view of the city while colorful stalls, roller coasters, and live music entertain below.

Why should you definitely visit the Hamburg Summer Dom?

A highlight is the music-synchronized fireworks that illuminate the sky over St. Pauli every Friday night. But even during the day, there is plenty to enjoy: children's programs, walking acts, and changing activities make your visit to the Dom diverse – even if you go every year, you will always discover something new.

Many of the rides are real classics, but new attractions are added every year. To keep things exciting, these are announced only shortly before. If you go more for the atmosphere rather than the rides, you can indulge in a culinary journey through the world, as there are both regional specialties and street food from around the globe – from Hamburg Labskaus to vegan pulled jackfruit.

Insider Tip: During the week in the early evening is the most pleasant time: fewer crowds, shorter wait times – and the lighting for photos is perfect.
